Job Description

NOARK Electric is seeking an Electrical Engineer or Electrical Engineering Technologist to support its product marketing, development and sales activities. The role requires a thorough understanding of electrical power systems and circuit protection systems. Candidates having sales, technical support or marketing experience with a manufacturer or wholesale distributor in the electrical products industry are preferred.  The role reports to the Director of Marketing.

Job Duties

Provide ongoing support in maintaining leadership in product design, cost, and sales performance, such as:

  • Monitor competitive products and literature and keep abreast of latest product improvements, technologies, and market trends.
  • Coordinate, lead and manage new product development programs and product line maintenance engineering activities.
  • Project management of new product development including assuring that product makes it thorough critical certifcations such as UL.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of general price increases. Recommend price levels, administer price document changes, and assist in their publication.
  • Responsible for the planning and implementation of new product launches.
  • Manage the development of configurators required to order the product.
  • Identify and manage cost reduction opportunities.
  • Provide input into annual Strategic and Sales planning activities of the organization.

 

Responsible for the development of the product information and promotional material required to effectively market the product line, such as:

  • Write and edit technical and marketing content.
  • Supervise the production of digital assets, including web pages, videos, product configurators and pricing programs.
  • Lead the creation and deployment of product information and promotional materials including catalogs, product specifications, sales presentations, and brochures.
  • Publish and/or present technical articles online, in person or at industry events.

 

Function as a technical support resource, such as:

  • Solve product application problems and answer technical questions from sales representatives, distributors, and end-customers.
  • Develop product education materials and perform training with the NOARK sales team, sales agents, distributors, and end customers.
  • Receive, investigate, and resolve warranty claims while maintaining accurate records and performing warranty cost analysis.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelors or Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering.

OR

  • Diploma in Applied Electrical Engineering Technology.

OR

  • Suitable product and application knowledge via experience or training from a military or hands-on industrial role.

 

Experience & Knowledge:

  • 3 to 5 years’ work experience in sales, technical support, or marketing in the electrical products industry with a manufacturer or wholesale distributor.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of electrical power systems, circuit protection and industrial motor controls systems and products.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). 2D or 3D CAD software experience is a bonus.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English. French language skills are an asset.

 

Travel:

Ability to travel 30-40% of the time.
