The Challenge of Timely Deliveries
SEEL’s team of engineering technologists and electricians have relied on their Distributor in Edmonton for timely and efficient deliveries of electrical products to service the extremely stringent requirements of their customers. They work closely with Innovelec, leading supplier of products and services for the electrical industry in Western Canada for NOARK Electric.
Select Electrical was working on a for prestigious project in the Alberta Oil and Gas industry, that included design, manufacture and supply of a compact Switchgear/ Motor Control Centre (MCC) line-up, for supplying power to processes and utilities, driving Pumps related to SAGD* field and facilities. The Switchgear included a main feeder of 2500A and sub feeders ranging from 1800A to 800A. along with Molded Case Breakers used in combination with VFDs and Starters.
The project demanded high quality products to meet the exact specs of the industry, to be delivered in a short time frame, that was becoming a challenge due to supply chain issues.
Thanks to Innovelec and Distributor Sales Rep in Edmonton, the required motor protection, including circuit breakers (MCB, MBBB, ACB) and other circuit and motor protection accessories, were delivered by NOARK Electric from their North American warehouses, to meet the project requirements, in record time!
Ideal Solution
Omid Bayestehtarat of Innovelec stated, “We have been working with NOARK’s products for many years, and we know that when it comes to UL/CSA certified electrical products, manufactured to the highest standards, they can deliver. NOARK is well stocked at their Pomona, California and Kitchener, Ontario warehouses, where they are also able to modify and assemble products to meet specifications for each sector or condition. To top it all, their prices are unbeatable, and service is strong. The Distributor had been suggesting NOARK’s products for many other customers, so it was a no-brainer to recommend them to Select Electrical.”
For this project, NOARK provided high interrupting capacity Molded Case Circuit Breakers used with Drives, and 2500A Power circuit breakers for the Main Feeders. The Power Circuit breakers are equipped with smart trip units and other internal electrical accessories that ensure proper protection coordination for the Switchgear/ MCC Line-up.
Proper motor protection is key to success when dealing with electric motor systems, providing defence against overload, overcurrent, and excessive voltage spike incidents. Current limiting circuit breakers are designed to limit the prospective fault current peak and reduce the amount of ‘let through’ energy that gets to the protected equipment before it isolates the fault.
NOARK’s circuit and motor protection products are manufactured to the highest standards to meet the safety requirements and extreme conditions in the Oil & Gas industry.
Results
Derek Wolcom, CEO, Select Electrical added, “Using NOARK’s breakers, we were able to meet some very aggressive (borderline unrealistic) timelines, to enable us to complete the project in record time!”
Omid concluded, “We would gladly suggest NOARK to our distributors and customers especially when timelines are an issue, as we are confident that they will deliver excellent products efficiently.”
